On at Sunset with Google Home

This article will cover how to use your Google Home to create automation where your lights come on at sunset.

First, if you haven’t created an account with Magic Home Pro, please click here and view our article on creating an account.

What you will require are a Google account and the Google Home app.

Step 1. Open your Google Home App

Step 2. Click the plus symbol to toggle the next screen

Step 3. Select “Set up device” or you may see an option “Works with Google”.

Step 4. In the search, search for Magic Home and select it

Step 5. You will be redirected to login with your Magic Home app account

Enter your app account and password to finish the account linking.

Step 6. Select your GoBright Lights system

Step 7. You should be back at the Google Home screen. Once you’re there create a new routine

Step 8. Next, tap the floating “+” button to start creating a new routine.

Step 9. First, we’ll need to decide how to trigger the routine. This is where sunrise and sunset will come in. Tap “Add Starter.” You may get a screen that asks you what the routine will do, please select “Adjust home devices”

Step 10. Now we can select “Sunrise/Sunset.”

In order for Google to know when sunrise and sunset occur, you’ll need to first choose your location.

Step 11. You’ll be able to choose from your saved locations or enter a new one. Tap “Done” when you’ve made the selection.

Step 12. Next, you can decide how exactly to use the sunrise/sunset time. Select “When the Sun Sets/Rises.”

Step 13. Select the days of the week you would like the automation to repeat

Step 15. Select your GoBright Lights controller

image.pngStep 16. Select the action that you would like this controller to do which is to turn on
